Green Campus

Green Campus

Located in the scenic beauty of Kodaikanal valley, against the green background of Western Ghats, on the Dindigul – Theni High way, JC College was the first self-financing college in the District of Theni and was one of leading educational institutions of the time.  It has a spacious campus in an eco-friendly atmosphere.

Tree-Filled Avenues

MMC Campus is filled with numerous trees of different types and kinds. Neem trees perhaps make the largest in number since they have better survival in the geographical areas of Tamil Nadu. Neem is a natural herb that comes from the Neem tree, other names for which include Azadirachta indica and Indian lilac. The extract comes from the seeds of the tree and has many different traditional uses. Neem is known for its pesticidal and insecticidal properties, but people also use it in hair and dental products. There numerous other trees in the campus that gives an overall greenish atmosphere in the MMC campus. The main gate opens into a green medow of buffalo grass which slowly leads us into the rest of the avenues of trees and other greeneries.

Eco-Friendly Atmosphere

As part of the effort to make MMC a completely eco-friendly Campus, the management has made it mandatory for the students not to throw plastic bottles and materials around. There are waste barrels all across the campus to neatly collect and dispose such materials. We have compost making facility in the campus which enables us to college the fallen leaves of the trees and convert them into manure that could used for the plants within the campus itself.
