What is mathematics?

Mathematics is a versatile and effective instrument; it is the subject of logical sequence. Learning mathematics is always proceeds from simple to complex and from concrete to abstract. Mathematics accelerates a nation’s social, economic, and technological growth. The society of today requires an increasing amount of mathematical expertise on the part of its citizens. As a result, the graduates must be prepared with a solid statistical foundation.

Linear Algebra, Groups, Rings, Fields, Vector Spaces, Vector Algebra, Vector Calculus, Real Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Complex Analysis, Differential Equations, Calculus, and Advanced Calculus, among other subjects, are covered in depth in the mathematics curriculum, allowing students to apply their mathematical interests to other academic pursuits.

Highlights of the Department

  • The Department of Mathematics would like to extend a warm welcome to you. It is one of Mary Matha College’s oldest departments. It offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. To accommodate UG and PG programmes, the department has intellectual and diverse teaching faculty.
  • The department has an involved club called Skyline Math, which actively organizes conferences, Guest lectures, and intercollegiate meetings each year and encourages students to engage in different college programmes and competitions.
  • Students can gain problem-solving abilities, teamwork, curriculum organization, and independent decision-making skills through this math club, and these skills can help them develop into well-educated human beings.
