Jayaraj Chelladurai College (JCC) was officially started by a Philanthropist named Mr. Jayaraj Chelladurai.
2001 - 2002
Permanent affiliation was granted to the then-existing UG Courses.
2003 - 2004
The College applied for the status of Co-Education.
2009
St. Joseph Province Kottayam of the CMI congregation purchased the college in the year 2009 and thus theoretically MMC also started in the same year. Hence, this College is owned and managed by CMI Fathers under Bodhi Niketan Trust since April 2009. On 28th April 2009 Fr. Issac Puchamkulam CMI assumed the office as the Principal of JC College, marking the beginning of the CMI management.
2011 2012
Students’ strength reached above 500.
2012 - 2013
The Process of the name change from JCC to MMC was completed with the consent of the Department of Collegiate Education Chennai and the affiliating Madurai Kamaraj University. Thus JCC became officially MMC.
2013
Two new PG courses, namely, M.Com (CA) and M.A English were started.
2014
On July 7th MMC signed an MoU with CPA College, Bodynayakanur, Tamil Nadu.
2015
MMC has been awarded ISO Certification ISO 9001:2008 on 11th August 2015.
2016
Chavara Block was inaugurated as the Main Block of the MMC College with administrative and academic facilities. Two new M.Phil courses, namely, M.Phil (English) & M.Phil Commerce were started this academic year. Student Strength reached above 1000.
2017
A new PG course namely, M.Sc Mathematics was started.
2018
St. Joseph Block was inaugurated partially with a conglomeration of Lab facilities, Mini Halls, Boys’ Hostel, and so on. On May 16 MMC signed an MoU with Al Waleed Palace Hotel, Dubai for providing internships for our HMCS students.
2019
A new course, namely, Forensic Science (FS) started this academic year. ISO certification was renewed as ISO Certification ISO 9001:2015. Student strength reached above 2000.
2020
On February 24 MMC secured an MoU for an exchange program with the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. Permanent affiliation was granted to the then-existing 5UG Courses and 2 PG courses. On March 14 MMC signed an MoU with American College, Madurai for academic partnership. MMC added one more course, namely, Forensic Science and Criminology (FSC).
2021
A new PG Course namely, Diploma in Sanitary Inspector was started.
